With the 2012 year coming to an end, South Florida Hip Hop recording artist Mercy, has finally released his highly anticipated Prelud3 EP. The Prelud3 EP consist of eight newly recorded tracks with production from in-house producer Solidified, bringing you that familiar iLLustrious sound, as well as Zino courtesy of Exhibition Z Productions. “The video, directed by Anthony Sylvester, was shot throughout Bed Stuy, Brooklyn NY. The theme was to show the parallels between me as a 9-year old aspiring emcee and me now as an accomplished emcee and artist, and how the things around me that groomed me haven’t changed. The song is a 3-minute auto-bio of me as a kid in Brooklyn…”

I haven’t always been into Skyzoo, but lately I’ve been realizing just how dope he is as a rapper. He still kinda reminds me of Jay-Z(a lot of people do), but that could just be the Brooklyn influence. Either way, this is his new joint…nice concept.

I appreciate his approach to making music. I like how he is aware of remaining himself on records with other people.
“The Process” is a web-series that zeros in on the various methods artists use to reach a creative means. From writing, rhyming, how a beat is produced, to how they actually record — everyone has a process.
Episode one of “The Process” sheds some light on Skyzoo’s process, as he writes and records a verse to Nina B’s “718” (which also includes Action Bronson) from her recently released mixtape Titles Are Played Out! via 2DOPEBOYZ
